Born in southeast Mexico, daughter of a Lebanese father and a Mexican mother, Hayek began her career in Mexican TV soap operas in late 80s. After having some success with titles such as “Nuevo amanecer, Un” (1988) and “Teresa” (1989), Hayek left a relatively easy career in Mexican TV and traveled to Los Angeles, searching for the promised land: Hollywood. After some minor roles, Hayek began to be noticed as a good actress in Desperado (1995). She returned to Mexico to film Callejón de los milagros, El (1995) and was nominated for an Ariel (Mexican Academy Award). Hayek is considered to be the first Mexican actress to become a Hollywood movie star since Dolores Del Río.

Katie Holmes was born in Toledo, Ohio . Before running into a manager who told her to go to Los Angeles for a television job, she acted in theatre productions at her high school. She got most of her fame through her role on Dawson’s Creek by writer Kevin Williamson which she played the role of Joey Potter. In her first audition Katie got the part in the feature film “The Ice Storm” before she appeared on Dawson’s Creek. A tape was sent to the show, which is how she ended up getting the part.

Wanting to be a dancer, Elizabeth Hurley went to ballet boarding school at 12, but soon returned home. When it came time to go to college, Hurley won a scholarship to the London Studio Centre which taught courses for dance and theater. European films followed her appearance in the BBC serial “Christabel” (1988) (mini). Her film debut in a Hollywood movie was in the Wesley Snipes action drama Passenger 57 (1992). When Hugh Grant was picked up with Divine Brown, Hurley became headline news. Added to this was the fact that she was the model representing top cosmetics house Estee Lauder, and there was no place Hurley could go to get away from the press. In 1994, Hurley and Hugh Grant set up Simian Films in partnership with Castle Rock Entertainment. As Head of Development, Hurley found the script and produced her first film Extreme Measures (1996), which stars Hugh Grant.

Angelina Jolie is one of the hottest stars on the Hollywood landscape, and she isn’t afraid to show off the goods, so to speak, either. After she made her first Silver Screen appearance in a small role opposite her father, Jon Voight in 1982’s Lookin’ to Get Out, Angelina spent the next few years concentrating on school before returning to her acting roots in her nude debut appearance in 1993’s Cyborg II. Nicole Kidman was listed in “People Weekly’s “Most Intriguing People” list in the December 1995 issue. Suffered a broken rib while rehearsing a dance routine for the movie Moulin Rouge! (2001). Production was halted while she recovered. She was chosen by People Magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World in 1999. Nicole has one adopted son and one adopted daughter. Her father is renowned Sydney psychologist Anthony Kidman famous for his work with breast cancer patients. On February 5th 1999 she separated from husband Tom Cruise. Nicole dropped out of high school, and at the age of 16 appeared in Australian holiday favorite “Bush Christmas”. It wasn’t until 1989 that Kidman appeared in a U.S. film, which was named “Dead Clam”. Her next big film was the one where she starred along side Tom Cruise in “Days of Thunder”.
